Aluminium Conservation Stretcher Bars
CONSERVATION ALUMINIUM STRETCHER BARS
These are bars are exclusive to Russell & Chapple. Made in solid aluminium, the bars are made using heavy gauge material giving excellent stability and strength. The strength of the aluminium also means that fewer cross-bars are needed to support the stretcher frame.
The corner expansion system allows fine control of the canvas tension.
These bars can be made up to 6 metres in length, so are ideal for oversize works.
The design of the bars lifts the lip off the canvas by 4mm and the slim profile is ideal for works that are going to be framed.
The stretcher frame can be re-tensioned using an Allen key.
All our Conservation Aluminium Stretcher Bars can also be cut to order to any size in our North London workshop. Please us the Stretcher Builder to order your bars.

For the longer cross-bar dimension the frame will need a pair of Half Bars.
Centre Bars and Half Bars are secured using Cross-bar Clamps at each end. -
